Thanksgiving

This time of year we celebrate a rather unique holiday, a feast in honor of the One who gives us all good things. Everyday we practice gratitude, but the Thanksgiving holiday is a special day to commemorate abundance & provision, taking praise to a whole new level.

For Thanksgiving day, our family enjoys making little, blank, stapled, booklets where we can write or illustrate our blessings. We love going around the table and sharing all our goofy doodles.

My mom has a special game for Thanksgiving day. (She says the original Pilgrims and Indians did this at the first Thanksgiving feast, although I'm not really sure if that's true or not.) Each person gets five kernels of Indian corn on their placemat. Then, we all take turns going around the table sharing a blessing for each piece of corn, tossing the kernel into the centerpiece afterwards. (If you try this at home, be sure you remove the gravy boat first!)

I hope that you and your family will have a very blessed Thanksgiving holiday!
