Hygge

With cold, dark, winters, like the one we've just had here in the Pacific Northwest, we can learn a lot from the Danes about how to make the most of life by practicing hygge (pronounced "hoo-guh"). Hygge is more than a soft, chunky blanket to curl up in, lighting candles, sipping from an earthen mug, or wearing wooly things ... but, this is a wonderful place to begin.

Hygge feels like a big, warm hug.
It's a wellness program and a way of life. It's gratitude and smiling for no reason.
It's enjoying life's simple pleasures and being present.
Hygge is about finding beauty in the ordinary and meaning in the mundane.

It's in the act of making art ... and letting all of life become the art as well.

It's peace within and being loved.
Doing life together.
Hygge feels like home.
